Pre-Production
We partnered with Vintage Cash Cow to produce the first three episodes of a new long-form YouTube series designed to grow their channel, increase brand awareness and drive website traffic.
The concept, Granny’s Attic, was built around audience insight. With a core demographic the content needed to feel nostalgic, warm and genuinely entertaining rather than sales-led. The format saw children explore a vintage-filled attic, reacting to and guessing the purpose of antique objects before “Granny” revealed their true use. The goal was simple, create fun, shareable content that builds positive brand association. To bring the idea to life, we designed and built a bespoke attic set in our studio, allowing complete creative control. Pre-production included set mock-ups for approval, a two-day build, casting, and a full technical prep day for lighting and cameras.
Production
Filming took place on the custom-built attic set in our studio, giving us full control over lighting and logistics. This was one of our most ambitious technical shoots, featuring a three-camera setup, extensive cinematic lighting, carefully structured scheduling around child performance regulations. To capture authentic reactions, we prioritised making the children feel relaxed and comfortable. Rather than scripting responses, we let them interact naturally with the objects, resulting in hours of genuine, funny and engaging footage.
Post production
With hours of multi-camera footage to review, the edit was key to shaping the series. Each episode was structured to take viewers on a journey, from first reaction, to curiosity, to understanding, intercutting the children’s personalities with Granny’s explanations to maintain pace and maximise watch time. The final films delivered a warm, nostalgic tone with strong entertainment value.
Result
The series received excellent feedback, with the client praising the casting, edits, and entertainment value. The first episode alone exceeded 25,000 YouTube views, helping grow the channel and boost brand awareness. The final films closely matched the original vision in tone, pacing, and style.
